Alexander Stafford, local Member of Parliament for Rother Valley, took his fight to level up his constituency right to the very top today in a virtual meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the fund.
PM Boris has restated his decision to classify Rotherham as a top priority area to receive £20 million from the £4.3 billion fund and urged Alexander to keep working with Local Authorities, who must submit a strong bid in order to be successful.
Commenting, Alexander said:
Today I had a productive and fruitful discussion with the Prime Minister to discuss the Levelling Up Fund, and the tremendous positive impact it could have in Rother Valley.
He was very clear to me that RMBC must grab this unique opportunity with both hands and submit a strong bid that champions a local infrastructure project to safeguard our future.
I am of course keen to work with RMBC to help identify local projects that could benefit from this grant funding and put together a successful bid, but I believe this is a once in a generation opportunity to rejuvenate our local High Streets.
However, I also want to hear from Rother Valley residents directly to find out where you would most like this investment to go, so please let me know by filling out this very short form on my website
