On Wednesday 18th December, newly-elected Conservative MP for Rother Valley, Alexander Stafford, met the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid, to discuss inward investment into Rother Valley to revive local high streets and improve local connectivity.
Alexander pushed for additional funding to improve bus connectivity between communities, so that local residents are able to attend school and get to work more easily.
Alexander also raised residents’ concerns about reduced footfall on local high streets and the need for funding to revive them, so that Rother Valley can thrive.
Commenting, Alexander Stafford MP said:
“Rother Valley needs funding for improvements to our local bus services and today I took that issue directly to the Chancellor.
“Improving local connectivity is the first step to reviving our local high streets and I have raised this need for greater inward investment into Rother Valley with the Chancellor.
“I will continue to press the need for this funding at the highest level as well as raise this important issue with local transport providers.”
