- Maltby student Caden, now at university, completed a 2-week work experience programme at Alexander's constituency office
- Helped out with campaigns, casework and shadowed Alexander on constituency visits
Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford hosted a university student, originally from Maltby, for a 2-week work experience placement in his Dinnington constituency office.
Student Caden spent 2 weeks learning about the work of a constituency office and his local MP, even shadowing Alexander on local engagements.
Commenting, Alexander said:
It has been great to welcome Caden onto my constituency team for the last 2 weeks, and I hope he has enjoyed his time with us.
I believe that it is so important for the next generation to get stuck into politics and really get their teeth into what it means to be an MP. By doing work experience with me, they will get a really good idea of the work I do representing my constituents.
It hasn't been possible to host work experience during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, but I am delighted to say that I can now safely accommodate one student at a time in Dinnington and I hope to be able to invite students down to Westminster when the rules allow.
If you are a constituent and would like to carry out work experience with me, please do get in contact.
