Dinnington Ward Councillors and Maltby and Hellaby Councillors are right - Rotherham Labour have no plans and have failed to prioritise the towns and villages of Rother Valley in their infrastructure and regeneration plans.
This failure goes back decades. Let's look at some of their current pet projects:
An unfinished "pocket park" on the old-Primark site in Rotherham centre, cycle lanes that no-one wants or uses in Broom, repaving already pedestrianised roads and changing the planters in the town centre, spending £6million on a burnt out building on Corporation Street (with final development going to be worth just £2million), buying the old Lloyds bank for hundreds of thousands, and now selling it to private developer for £1!!! The list goes on of projects Rotherham Labour have pushed in their regeneration priority.
If a fraction of this huge investment and energy could have spent on projects in Rother Valley instead, it would have been transformational for the high streets and recreation facilities.
If having a "Levelling Up Row" means that Rotherham Labour are going to start paying our towns and villages some attention, local councillors and I are doing our job fighting for Rother Valley!
