- A passionate advocate for the environment, Alexander is keen to work with schools to educate the next generation of climate campaigners
Alexander Stafford, local MP for Rother Valley, recently joined a school in his constituency, Wickersley School & Sports College, for a Q & A on environment and climate change matters with the schools eco council.
A former employee of the World Wildlife Fund, since his election in December 2019 Alexander has ensured that matters of climate change and the environment have ranked high on his agenda. He held the first-ever debate on Hydrogen as the clean, green, fuel of the future and is keen to work with schools and climate groups in his constituency to contribute to this very important discussion.
His meeting with Wickersley School & Sports College and their eco council facilitated a lively and informative discussion that covered a broad range of climate change subjects, such as energy efficiency, fracking and the importance of recycling.
Commenting, Alexander said:
It was great to speak to Mr Gill and members of the Wickersley School & Sports College Eco-Council to discuss all matters related to the environment.
I know that many students want to be able to recycle more at the school, and it is great to hear the passion in so many enthusiastic voices.
I am very grateful to Hope for the Future for organising this great meeting.
