- Local Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford has called for civil service to be relocated to Rother Valley, and today urged Government to ensure high quality civil service jobs were brought to the region
Alexander Stafford, local MP for Rother Valley, called on Parliament again today to consider his proposals to relocate Government departments to Rother Valley and bring civil service roles to the constituency.
Today he asked The Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP, Cabinet Secretary, to visit Rother Valley to see it's potential firsthand and to commit to ensuring that high quality civil service roles were relocated out of the city.
Commenting, Alexander said:
Moving civil service jobs up north can only be a good thing and there is a huge amount of talent and potential right here in Rother Valley.
I am clear, though, that this cannot mean bringing only backroom processing roles out of London and it must bring high-powered, high-quality roles to the region.
I am delighted that the Minister agrees and look forward to welcoming him to Rother Valley next month.
