Government to release the report later this year
Alexander Stafford has today welcomed the announcement from the Home Office that the Child Grooming Gang report will be made public later in the year.
The report was initially going to be kept internal, but after strong opposition the Home Office have decided that the report will be made public, hopefully bringing some much-needed answers to victims.
Alexander is a strong supporter of Sammy’s Law, brought forward by Sammy Woodhouse who is a victim of Child Sexual Exploitation. Alexander believes that the report will demonstrate the need for this law, which would see CSE victims pardoned for crimes they coerced into committing.
Commenting, Alexander Stafford MP said:
I am delighted that the government have decided to make this report public, so that we can truly understand the extent of Child Sexual Exploitation in our communities.
This report will provide some reassurance that the government remain committed to rooting out and prosecuting perpetrators. It is important that the reports findings are released into the public domain, to ensure that the truth prevails.
“I will continue to fight for justice for CSE victims and I will make sure that victims voices are heard.
