Recently, I met Cllr David Fisher, Borough Councillor for the Sitwell ward.
We discussed the 450-house development that was approved on former greenbelt land, off Worrygoose Lane and Lathe Road. This was approved despite previous objections to the increased traffic caused into Worrygoose Island.
Given the bad floods Whiston faced in 2007, we spoke about the further impact to flooding in Whiston Brook that may be a potential impact from the development on the land in Whiston. David discussed multi-agency working to provide a seamless response to landowners and residents in Whiston with regards to flooding.
I have also had recent conversations with Whiston Residents Action Group - WRAG that continue to work against the councils decision to build on this land in Whiston.
