In a Westminster Hall debate recently, Alexander Stafford, MP for Rother Valley, called on the Government to support Hong Kong residents who did not qualify for the British National (Overseas) aid scheme.
Stating that full British citizenship has been granted to residents of British overseas territories, Alexander called for the same to be granted to Hong Kong residents.
Alexander also advocated for a strong response against China, saying that the 'one country, two systems' model has been proven to be a lie in recent months.
